Workshops and Teaching

At present Sue is working with her company HEAD FOR HEIGHTS on translation workshops for the Chilean play SPIDER GIRLS. These are Arts Council funded and are aimed at producing a final translation in 2016 which the company will then produce.

Alongside her working life as a Director Sue has continuously been employed in running workshops with fellow artists, (directors, actors and writers) and in training students. From 2004-2014 she was Head of the MA in Directing and the MA in Text and Performance at RADA. In 2010 she developed a new MA in training actors at RADA, MA Theatre Lab and was the Head of that Course from 2011-2013.

In November 2010 with colleagues from the Liverpool Playhouse/Everyman and the British council she directed a rehearsed reading of Lizzie Nunnery’s new play THE SWALLOWING DARK in Sao Paolo and also ran workshops on new writing with both Directors and Writers.

She specialises in helping Film Directors understand how to work with actors and has created and run workshops for Film Directors on working with actors for CREATIVE ENGLAND, LFS and the University Of Essex (E15).
